It is portrayed in its most vivid form a rainbow perhaps. The next theme spread across is that of love. August, even after enduring an unjust life, carries a candle of hope and searches for a safe place. It infuses a new zeal for life in the readers too. The way it was kept alive till the very last line is quite interesting. There are three main elements in the story. It is the kind of book that will transport you to the destination and make you feel emotions on a deeper level. I personally was more intrigued to visit NYC only by reading Casey’s words. The setting of the story is beautiful and pulls us more into the book. The visuals are so intricate and well defined that you eventually feel as if you are roaming along with the characters. The cozy alleys of NYC interiors, bustling subways and streets establish a beautiful atmosphere. The novel passes on a summertime vibe to the readers. One needs to read between the lines to understand the essence of the story as a whole. The tonality of the book is subtle and crisp. I love how the writer has blissfully presented their ordinary lives with a tinge of excitement. Their visions about love and life are opposite and so prove the notion of how opposites attract. Jane and August are the most real characters you will ever meet. When we talk about books related to awareness about the LGBTQ community, this novel stands as a breakthrough. The emotions felt by characters are shown crystal clear their feelings are a reflection of their personality. The writing is sharp and honest, pulling out the stereotypes and thrashing them with truth. It is a euphoric experience to read this book and to understand the intricacies of human relationships through vivid binoculars. The book offers a glimpse of raw unfiltered emotions told with a genuine perspective. It is a breakthrough and a strong voice for the world. It is fun to read them gel up and exchange expressions and ideas. She feels that staying alone is the best way to survive. On the contrary, August is reserved and prefers to stay in her own cocoon. Jane is more of a happy-go-lucky personality from the outside, and from inside she is…well you read and find out. They are distinct characters but the strings of affection pull them together.
